Assistant Technician (Tier 1)
Job Description
In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians to help diagnose and resolve IT issues for our clients. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining computer systems, servers, and networks to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll also support accurate record-keeping, clear client communication, and collaboration with our IT team. Some travel may be required during the workweek, either in a company vehicle or with mileage reimbursement. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

Assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving IT issues, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.Interact professionally with clients by gathering details on technical issues, providing updates on service progress, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the process.Support the installation, configuration, and deployment of computer systems, servers, and networking equipment to ensure reliable, efficient operations.Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, repairs, and service requests. Contribute to the development of standard operating procedure documentation.Work alongside our IT team to strengthen your technical skills through hands-on learning, project participation, and knowledge sharing.Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, while actively pursuing training and certification opportunities.Coordinate the delivery and retrieval of parts to support technicians and clients, ensuring smooth on-site operations and minimizing downtime.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical coursework or certifications are a plus)Strong interest in information technology with a genuine desire to learn and grow in the fieldFoundational knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applicationsStrong problem-solving skills with a logical, methodical approach to troubleshootingClear and effective communication skills, both written and verbalCollaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environmentEagerness to take on new challenges, learn new skills, and expand responsibilitiesBenefits
